Located in the charming town of Kent in Connecticut’s scenic northwest corner, Bull’s Bridge is one of the most beautiful and iconic spots in the Litchfield Hills. This historic red covered bridge, built in 1842, spans the powerful Housatonic River and is one of only a few remaining covered bridges in the state still open to traffic. Just downstream from the bridge, the river drops dramatically over a series of rocky ledges, creating a thundering waterfall that’s especially impressive after rain. The area offers excellent photo opportunities, peaceful riverside walks, and easy access to the Appalachian Trail, which crosses right nearby. The surrounding area is perfect for a relaxing drive through the northwest corner’s rolling hills, farms, and quaint villages. In autumn, the foliage around Bull’s Bridge is spectacular. It’s a favorite stop for photographers, hikers, kayakers, and anyone looking for classic New England scenery without the crowds. Bull’s Bridge is free to visit, easily accessible, and combines history, nature, and that perfect postcard New England charm. Highly recommended for anyone exploring the Litchfield Hills region. Address: Bull’s Bridge Road, Kent, CT 06757.
