Boscobel House and Gardens is a jewel of the Hudson Valley, perched on a hilltop in Garrison with one of the most iconic “million-dollar views” overlooking the Hudson River, Constitution Marsh, and the United States Military Academy at West Point. Built between 1804 and 1808 in the Federal (Neoclassical) style for States Dyckman, the mansion was nearly lost to demolition in the 1950s but was meticulously saved, moved, and restored to its original grandeur. Today it houses one of the nation’s finest collections of Federal-period decorative arts and furniture, including important pieces by Duncan Phyfe. Visitors can tour the elegantly furnished house, wander through formal gardens and orchards, hike the 1-mile woodland trail, and enjoy rotating exhibitions and events. A perfect blend of history, architecture, gardens, and natural beauty in the scenic Hudson Highlands.
